Surveys

Asbestos surveys are undertaken to determine whether or not there are asbestos containing materials (ACM) present in the property. Sampled materials are analysed in an IANZ accredited laboratory, to confirm the presence and identify the type of asbestos.

Asbestos Surveys

Identify Consulting offers different types of asbestos surveys to suit the needs of our clients. Surveys can be undertaken prior to planned refurbishment or demolition works, or so a business is able to meet its legal obligation to identify and manage asbestos within a workplace. Identify’s consultants are trained to undertake all survey types and as an organisation we have the capacity to undertake surveys in residential, commercial, and industrial properties and work sites.

Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys

Refurbishment and demolition surveys are intrusive surveys undertaken prior to planned works. Once a scope of works is determined, the building is inspected to determine whether there are any asbestos containing materials that may be disturbed by the planned works. Our consultants will thoroughly inspect all areas in scope to determine whether asbestos containing materials are present. Recommendations will be provided for safe removal of asbestos containing materials to assist our client with their project. These types of surveys ensure property owners and contractors are protected from the harms of asbestos, and that all legal obligations are met.

Management Surveys

Management surveys are undertaken in workplaces, so business owners and operators are able to meet their legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016. It is a legal requirement that the location of all asbestos containing materials is identified within a workplace, and the material is adequately managed in order to eliminate the health risk to those who work in the building.

Non-intrusive in nature, management surveys generally entails the inspection of visible areas of a property or structure so that asbestos containing materials that may be disturbed during day to day operations can be effectively managed. These surveys form the basis of the Asbestos Management Plan required when asbestos is identified.
